13s Match Report

Taunton hungry for revenge having narrowly lost to us at theirs for the first time earlier in the season; started strong and as I’ve written way too often we started sluggish. In fact we were 0-3 down after ten minutes!. Us parents have started to accept our boys need to fall behind before coming to life! Thankfully we fought back and at the half time whistle it was a much more respectable 3-4 scoreline which also included new signing Tyler getting on the scoresheet.

The second half started and we had the advantage of playing down the pitch. A back and forth game but one that led to it being all square going into the last quarter, our boys bullied ahead to win 7-5.

Other tries came from Luca, Leo and Daniel R. Shout out to the new signings Tyler and Preston for making solid opening performance, with Preston carrying hard and putting in some big hits.

No MoM today, but again it needs recognizing that ALL our boys gave it their all, with both forwards and backs playing their part. ALL boys worked doggedly.

Double over Taunton complete!!!! We wouldn’t have guessed that was on the cards, but definitely a season highlight.

Last home game of the season, not a bad way to finish aye! Solid performance boys, you did the parents proud and I am sure the coaches are equally proud (smug ?).
