The teamwork emanating from their brief warm up session before KO, but seemed a little jaded once things got underway. With Captain Alex Barback and vice Oliver Gorman leading the team out intensity was high – both teams offering some great passages of play in the opening segment before a long James Goodman pass found Archie Hawkins for the Titans who strolled through to score the opener! The Titan continued to put the pressure on with good hands and an spirited set of movements allowed James Goodman and Jack Bevan to touch down before any reply came from the Saracens. With a handful of changes the Titan looked reenergised, again both sets of players putting in the work and producing some superb end to end rugby. Vast numbers of players meant a second game was played, and again a brutal contest began. Pure class in handling and defensive play meant that both sides entertained the crowd wonderfully in a half without score until Titans forward Zac Lancaster latched himself onto a Glover back pass and drove into the corner on the stroke of half time! Masses of changes and an opportunity to try player in different positions made for an interesting second half…. While slightly disjointed and finding their feet the Scaracens managed a trio of break away’s. As ever the Titans battled back superbly with James Goodman collecting his hat trick of tries and Isaac Lidster scoring in the dying moments meant the second game ended with the spoils shared. 15 – 15. Man of the Match was deservedly handed to Jon Glover for his consistent charismatic and energetic performance in creating Titan chances and devastatingly stopping Scaracen’s replies!
