Honiton v Ivybridge II
On a glorious sunny afternoon Honiton welcomed Ivybridge seconds who brought with them a large vocal group of supporters who were keen to encourage their compatriots and enjoy a beer or two.
Honiton wanted to show both sets of supporters what they are about and crisp handling good support play saw them move up field and the scoreboard was about to see some action.
The first try of the game was started and finished by Charlie Wright, after good support play from Phil Cook and Ben Spence he touched down on the left playing up the slope. Converted from out wide by Johnny House 7-0 after five minutes.
Honiton were taking advantage of some ill discipline from the away side and a string of penalties saw Johnny House have a shot at goal unfortunately his effort drifted just wide of the posts.
Ivybridge had a couple of penalties in the Ton twenty two and threatened a score of their own but strong defence and some good counter rucking saw the ball cleared up field.
The relief was short lived however and a penalty saw them drive over from a line out on the left, the conversion was missed 7-5.
Honiton repelled some more determined attack from Ivybridge but the defensive line was organised and they cleared their twenty two.
A midfield penalty for offside saw Honiton move deep in to the Ivybridge and Phil Cooke evaded the home defence to score next to the posts, this was converted by Johnny House 14-5.
It was not all Honiton however and Ivybridge got back in to the game with their second try, their second row broke down the blindside off a line out , he out paced the home defence scoring wide right, conversion missed again. 14-10 just before half time.
The first five minutes of the second half was an even affair until Jonny House intercepted a loose pass after a strong scrum from the Ton forwards, he added to his own try bringing the score to 21-10.
Most of the play was taking place in the Ivybridge half and another try from the home side saw the lead extended to 28-10 and a bonus point secured. Laird Crevald showed good strength from short range to brush off the Ivybridge defenders and score under the posts.
Rhys Phillips was the next scorer after a quick tap penalty taken by Johnny House to score wide left. The conversion missed but the lead extended to 33-10.
Another good effort from the away side try from saw Ivybridge score their third try, the scoreboard moved to 33-15 after their fourteen finished off a good attack.
Ben Spence was shown a yellow card after a disagreement with the Ivybridge number six who had been mixing it up with a few of the Honiton players throughout the game.

Rhys Phillips get his second try of the game scoring wide in an action replay of his first and the lead was extended to 38-15.
Robert Price did his typical wrecking ball run leaving defenders on their backsides scoring a fine solo try to hammer the final nail in the Ivybridge coffin giving a final score of 43-15 maintaining the great run of results for the lacemen.
