Honiton travelled down to play Ivybridge twos and had a rest bite from mud, playing on the 4G pitch. Things looked ominous as the home side scored early on so, 3 minutes gone and the Ton were 7-0 down .
Honiton were under the cosh a bit but a few good kicks saw Honiton advance up the field.
Then after a quick tap Josh Rice crashed over. The conversion was missed 7-5.
Things were pretty even for a while then disaster struck as Coots had to leave the field with a knee injury.
Ivybridge scored again out wide to extend their lead to 14-5.
With the use of a strong wind a well placed kick saw the home side score yet again from the line out to register a comfortable lead at 21- 5.
Honiton dug deep and got back into it with a well worked short ranged try from Ben Spence it was converted so that was 21-12.
Honiton pressed but were denied and half time came 21-12.
After receiving the kick off The Ton were patient and worked down the field a great set of hands saw Rhys Phillips score out wide and the Ton made the score line 21-17.
Again good use of the wind saw Honiton get into the 22 and a wayward clearance kick from the home side was taken back with interest as Spence scores his second under the posts this was converted and the Ton were ahead for the first time 21-24.
Ivybridge attacked again and Jonny House infringed to get given a yellow card and Ton were punished as the Bridgers opted for goal. 24-24.
Things were get tense more Ivybridge pressure and some ill discipline saw them kick for the corner and they rumble over for a converted try 31-24. The Bridges then kick a long range penalty to go two scores ahead. 34-24.
Thing were further compounded as the home 10 slotted a drop gaol to bury the Ton 37- 24.
Honiton dug deep and bonce back on the field Coots crossed for a late try 37-31.
Then with time running out Honiton go straight back in to the oppositions half and they score again Finn Parratt under the posts . House converted to somehow give Honiton the slender lead.
