Honiton played up the slope in the first half with the away side kicking off. A penalty from the first ruck saw Sarries take a shot at the posts to give them a an early 0-3 lead.
Honiton responded well and moved the ball up field and were awarded a penalty which Johnny House slotted to level the score 3-3.
Another penalty from Johnny House gave the Ton the lead after they moved the ball well.
More possession saw Honiton back in the Sarries twenty two but unfortunately they couldn’t capitalise on this with the ball held up and Sarries awarded the scrum.
Josh Rice was shown a yellow card for killing the ball and Sarries took a shot at goal, fortunately it drifted wide and Honiton held on to their slender lead.
A good break from Jake Johnson led to the first try of the game with Ben Spence in support to take the scoring pass. The conversion was added to give fourteen man Honiton a 13-3 advantage.
Despite being a man down Honiton were playing well and got their second try of the game through veteran second rower Nick Guilbert who forced his way over from short range. Converted by Johnny House 20-3 advantage just before half time.
Sarries got their first try when they scored wide left after a quick penalty tap. The conversion was missed giving Honiton a 20-8 halftime lead.

Two penalties conceded by Honiton saw Sarries enjoy possession and territory in the Honiton twenty two. The home defence though held firm and the ball was cleared out of the twenty two. The away side continued to dominate possession but they couldn’t add to the score and Honiton moved the ball down to clubhouse corner. A few phases from the forwards saw Ben Kidson step inside Sarries defence to score left of the posts, converted to stretch the lead to 27-8.
There was more good defence from Honiton to keep Sarries at bay so far in the second half but a forward looking pass saw them get a try wide right, conversion missed 27-13 and a yellow card for dissent given to Ben Kidson.
They got a third try again exploiting the right side. The try was converted closing the gap to 27-20.
A couple of plays later the final whistle was blown killing off any hopes of a comeback from the away side.
