On a bright afternoon The Ton entertained OPM’s at the Allhallows.
Honiton kicked off and were playing down the slope, the opposition pack were rather bulky and the first penalty of the game was a scrum penalty for the away side.
The scoreboard remained unchanged after 15 minutes with most of the early exchanges occurring in the OPM half.
The lead was taken by Honiton with a Ben Phillips penalty 3-0
The first try of the game came from Ben Spence, he was supporting on the inside shoulder after a fine break from skipper Johnny House. The try was converted 10-0 after twenty five minutes.
Robert Price got the next try of the game taking the inside pass from Dani Jenkins to score under the posts, converted by Ben Phillips 17-0 after half an hour.
Jack Feihy powered his way over from short range after some good recycling of the ball by the forwards, converted by Phillips 24-0.
Just before half time Ollie Rice secured the bonus point try hugging the touchline, again converted by Ben Phillips giving a healthy 31-0 lead going into the second half.
There’was no change in the scoring and despite OPM’s having most of the possession they couldn’t turn it into points.
The deadlock was finally broken after a good break by Ben Phillips saw Ollie Rice receiving the final pass from brother Josh. Not converted this time 36-0.
Honiton were conceding several penalties and received a warning from the referee, the next penalty saw Finn Parrat yellow carded for offside.
With Honiton camped on their own line and a never ending run of penalties it was inevitable that OPM’s would get their first points of the game after their number eight barged over. The try went unconverted 36-5.
The next try went to the away side in somewhat controversial circumstances when their winger appeared to drop the ball over the line 36-12.
OPM’s got their third try of the half, converted from wide out to take the score line to 36-19.
Final whistle and bonus point win secured.
