Another Strong performance for the Dimonds at their 2nd Cup match of the year.
Taking on Tiverton for the first time this season, Honiton expected a physical and close competition from the consistent Mid-Devon outfit.
The first 5-10 minutes saw Tiverton maintaining possession and looking to have the edge on the visitors, however the tables turned when the Honiton Pack started to gain dominance at the breakdown and allowed some simple but effective play and with strong running from the backs to secure numerous converted tries. Continued Pressure from the Dimond's pack brought opportunity in abundance both upfront and out wide, with run-ins from forwards and backs, finishing the first half 28- 5 up.
The second half kicked off in a similar style, with Honiton maintaining the pressure in attack, but some quick defence not allowing the home side to gain ground and momentum. A couple of errors in the Dimonds play allowed Tiverton to grab back a couple of tries, but going unconverted, didn't have the desired impact, however even with a 7 minute sin-bin for a late tackle didn't stop some great team tries and individual efforts.
With the score at 52-15 on the whistle, Honiton secured their 4th win on the trot, through the massive shift all the squad put in and the 'Team effort' noticed by all.
Tries from Aiden, Eric, Owen & Josh with conversions added by Eric.
MOTM this week went to Aiden for his effective running in the backs, Big hit award to Bailey on his return to the U16's and DOTD award not to Josh for his lateness and forgetting the award, or Sam for the Yellow card, but Owen for missing a sitter under the posts.
