Honiton V Paignton

U10s

Paignton, or the Cherries as they like to be known, clambered over Telegraph Hill to make Allhallows for a 10.30 ko in some glorious sunshine.

Don't let the sunshine fool you though, as the pitch was anything but summery, with more than a hint of stodge setting up another encounter in challenging conditions.

Dog walkers moved on, we set about it, and with a swelling squad of 13 to hand and the unfamiliar task of team rotation to implement, I looked forward to a good contest.

Honiton got off to a great start defensively and then progressed to run in considerably more try's than the now Cherry cheeked opposition.

This team is full of quality and different individual talents, which has started to gel, and the players are aware of each others attributes and playing in an organic way that makes the most of them.

Great industry and rucking today by our natural forwards Phoebe, Jack, Harley, Noah, and William.

William had another strong game this week, flat packing more opposition than IKEA have bookcases called Sven.

Scrum half Joe Doble dictated the play exquisitely, linking the play between forwards and backs with his cool suave.

Great pace from Josh, Ben, Alf, and Harry, bursting through the line and scoring try's by more lengths than a Williy Mullins stallion.

Harry played exceptional today, taking home Player of the match. I lost count of the try's and always involved. Well done mate. ????

Three new players featured this week. All three have been very committed to training in the last few weeks and have hit the ground running, showing great promise. Well done to Reggie and Laurie, and a special well done to Oscar, taking home Moment of the match for a fantastic debut try! ?⭐?

So back to the English riviera we sent them, and onto next week we go, full of our favourite brand of "muchiness".

I just hope I can get rid of this earworm by bedtime,

"can I go back on yet"......

Still, what a nice problem to have!

Chris
